Dear all,
We are pleased to welcome Kiran Padmanabhan from the Lyon Institute of Functional Genomics, invited by Laurent SCHAEFFER.
He will give a seminar on April 30th at 11:00 a.m. entitled: “ The cost of losing time: Genome organization under circadian disruption.”
The seminar will take place in Amphi 1 (1st floor), Faculté de Médecine Lyon-Est Rockefeller.
Abstract
Over evolutionary timescales, species have evolved cell-autonomous circadian clocks to coordinate and adapt their intrinsic physiological state to rhythms in the external environment. Daily rhythms in the assembly and disassembly of a ‘core’ transcription factor protein complex generates a circadian transcriptome that shapes the metabolism and physiology of mammalian tissues. We interrogate the epigenetic principles underlying the establishment of the clock and how chromatin states are altered upon genetic or metabolic disruption. In the talk, I will present our recent work on how chromatin architecture established by histone variants and associated chromatin remodelers are critical to oscillator establishment. Using biochemical, omics and imaging approaches, we explore how variant epigenome is re-organized upon circadian disruption and the consequences on tissue transcriptome and splicing landscapes.
